Keith Sims

Coach Sims is entering his 4th season at Seckinger as OL coach. He brings experience and expertise to the OL from all of his years playing at the highest level. He is a native of NJ where he was an All-state OL/DL for Watchung Hills high school. He received a full scholarship to attend Iowa State University. A four-year starter on the OL and following his graduation (B.S. in Industrial Technology), Miami Dolphins HOF Coach Don Shula selected him in the Second round of the 1990 NFL draft. He was entrusted to protect the blindside of HOF QB Dan Marino. Coach Sims had a very productive career in Miami yielding All-Rookie selection, 3 Pro Bowl starting nods and All-Pro selections. He finished his playing career with the Washington Redskins, finally retiring, after 11 seasons in the NFL due to a career ending injury.

Coach Sims has been honored at every level he played, a member of his high school HOF, the Iowa State HOF (Class 2006) and being named as a member of the Miami Dolphins top-50 All-time team. Coach and his wife Tia have 6 children together, with 3 boys still at home. Keith’s only daughter, Cairo Sims is a graduate of Liberty University and the oldest son, Storm was a high school football talent in his own right, capping his football career at St John’s a D3 powerhouse in Minnesota.  KJ is a junior student athlete at Seckinger and plays football for the Jaguars.
