Coach Rider is entering his 39th year of teaching and coaching. This is his 2nd year at Seckinger High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in physical education from Virginia Tech University in 1987 and his master’s degree in physical education from North Georgia College and State University in 2003. During his career, he has served as an Offensive Coordinator (6 years), Defensive Coordinator (11 years), and as a Head Coach (13 years). Coach Rider was part of the coaching staff that won the 1994 AAAA State Championship at Colquitt Co. in Moultrie, Georgia.

Coach Rider has been married to his wife, Patty Rider, for 33 years. They have 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Hannah and Callan Gillison, Abigail and Evan Ford, and Emily Rider. Coach Rider has a brand new granddaughter Margot Jane Gillison!
