Alex Folkard
A native of Loganville, Georgia, Coach Alex Folkard is a proud
product of Gwinnett County Club Soccer and Shiloh High School. With deep roots
in the local soccer community, he is excited to give back to the area that
helped shape his passion for the game.
Coach Folkard earned his degrees from the
University of North Georgia and Georgia Southern University and currently
teaches American Government and Economics. He is committed to helping students
grow not only academically, but also as leaders and responsible members of
their community.
With over 20 years of experience as both a
player and coach—and 10 years of coaching at various levels—Coach Folkard
brings knowledge, energy, and a dynamic style of play to the field. He believes
soccer is more than just a sport; it is a powerful tool for personal growth,
teamwork, and leadership development. His experience across multiple levels of
competition has equipped him to develop players’ technical skills, tactical
understanding, and confidence.
Coach Folkard looks forward to working with
each player to refine their abilities, deepen their understanding of the game,
and build confidence—not only on the field, but in the classroom and throughout
the community.
Outside of school and soccer, he enjoys
fishing, golfing, and spending time with his wife Alex and their son AJ, along
with family and friends.
