Andrea Medders
Andrea Medders is a proud graduate of
Norcross High School, where she was a multi-sport athlete. She
currently serves as assistant to the Athletic Director at Seckinger High
School.
Andrea earned a bachelor’s degree in
English from the University of West Georgia. She is in her 18th year
in education. She began her career in 2008 as a part-time substitute teacher in
Henry County and later served as a special education paraprofessional at
Bethlehem Elementary. In 2010, she joined Gwinnett County Public
Schools as a special education paraprofessional at J.C. Magill Elementary
in Loganville. After three years, she moved to Crews Middle School in
the Brookwood Cluster, where she worked as a paraprofessional and later as an
Instructional Clerk, supporting multiple grade-level teams for over a
decade. In 2022, Andrea began her current role as Assistant to the
Athletic Director at Seckinger High School, where she enjoys supporting
student-athletes, coaches, staff, and the athletic community while helping
students succeed both academically and athletically.
Andrea met her husband, Buck Medders,
at the University of West Georgia. They have two children. Their daughter,
Chelsea, is a graduate of the University of Georgia and recently married
Jonovan Dawson, also a UGA graduate and former member of the Redcoat Band.
Their son, Jake, is a teacher and coach at Seckinger High School.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending
time with family, attending sporting events, and supporting school
athletics. Andrea and her family stay busy with their three dogs — two
English Bulldogs, Gurley and Chubb, and a Biewer Terrier named
Tate — along with a full calendar of athletic events.
