MORROW — Four Seckinger wrestlers placed in the Class AAAAA Traditional State Tournament on Thursday at the Arena at Southlake.

Freshman Gavin Newton was the state runner-up at 120 pounds, and sophomore Kymani Tinsley took second at 106 pounds. Newton lost 18-3 in the finals to Jackson County’s Mikey Castro, and Tinsley fell 13-7 in the finals to Chattahoochee’s Ryland Aston.

Seckinger junior junior Drew Turenne placed third at 215, and senior Jose Urdaneta Silva was fifth at 285.

Lanier’s Eli Thoman was fifth at 126, and teammate David Gomez took fifth at 157. The Longhorns’ Eli Hawkes was sixth at 215.
